KEEP SHELLY IN ATHENS

Saturday 10 March 2018 2018

The ethereal and swirling sounds of the ambient influenced pop of Greece’s Keep Shelly in Athens captures the transient feelings of city life and the inevitable passing of time. With lush melodic beats and dreamy vocals Keep Shelly’s production is an accessible and lighthearted entry into the world of down-tempo electronica. The duo have already transported their whimsical arrangements and soothing productions across the globe in four North-American and two European headline tours. They released three full length albums, three EP’s and three 7″ singles and their numbers “Fractals”, “Flyway” and “Lazy Noon” reached #1 on Hype Machine charts.

Their new LP ‘Philokalia‘ is out via their own label Athenian Aura Recordings and it got great reviews. Electronic Beats Magazine described the new LP as an “…intoxicating blend of gauzy summer melodies and late-night melancholy.’’ All in all this is a duo full of mystery, particularly considering vocalist, award-winning novelist and poet Jessica Bell is the only one you ever see clearly, if at all, in their press photos, while producer RPR remains as shrouded as his name. With their dark and moody music Keep Shelly in Athens will envelop you completely during their show at Paard.

“ There are few artists within any genre who are able to make the mythical modern and the contemporary classic. Philokalia is that rare feat. “
