QUEEN’s PLEASURE

Sunday 17 December 2023 2023

Queen’s Pleasure is happiest on stage, where the 4 band members can merge into one unstoppable organism. The four born musicians found each other during their teenage years and soon grew into each other’s chosen family. Armed with only their musical instincts and a blind trust in each other, their live shows always create something that is difficult to put into words. The energy is an inexhaustible resource and you could watch each individual band member for an entire show.

For debut album ‘Words To Live By, Suits To Die In’ they went into the studio in Saffron Walden (UK) with producer Edd Hartwell. For the successor ‘Shy Bairns Get Nowt’ they sought isolation. In a winter on Vlieland, they recorded the entire album in 9 days with Excelsior legend Frans Hagenaars. Everything live on tape, no nonsense, with a minimum of overdubs and embellishments. What remains is a band that is more powerful than ever. Together they stand strong, happiest when making music as a unit.

Support: Captain Scarlet

Captain Scarlet was named after the 1967 television show by Gerry Anderson as an ode to the vintage looks and sounds all band members love. The band was formed in The Hague by Bas Boudewijn (Inside Electron), Pleun Stork, and Yaniv de Jong (MOYO). With this passion, Captain Scarlet recorded their first music in early 2022 with producer Tijmen van Wageningen. The use of vintage equipment helped Captain Scarlet to transform their melancholic indie rock into one-of-a-kind songs with the right emotion and fierceness. When listening to Captain Scarlet you will quickly hear they thoroughly listened to artists like David Bowie, The Last Shadow Puppets and Jeff Buckley while writing songs about their own experiences.
