Saturday 10 October 2015 2015

Alkaloid is an experimental electronic music project that has already known many forms. It started out as a solo project initiated by Rob Kanters, seeking for non existing boundaries between different musical genres. The collaboration with Tom Besuyen on vocals and David van Gils on guitar/effects makes way for an intense and deep clubby atmosphere with lots of space for live soundscape improvisations with a foundation of vibrant subs and groovy beats. With this line-up alkaloid recorded their EP Live By Accident which is released on the Antilounge Label the 1st of August 2014 and is available worldwide as digital download. The Girl Who Cried Wolf from Antwerp spent the last weeks of a busy 2014 in a snow covered Ghent. There they began recording their debut album. Music that breathes as well as suffocates. A sound hidden in darkness. Songs shrouded in a contemporary melancholy. That is what The Girl Who Cried Wolf is all about. The album signifies a natural progression of their earlier work, having released their debut EP ‘Ohm’ (January 2014) and a single ‘Norway’ (October 2014). These first releases led to numerous shows throughout Belgium and The Netherlands. This noisy psychedelic instrumental post-rock band was founded in 2013 in the Hague. In January The Howl Ensemble released their debut album titled 'Prooi'. In the ensemble, various disciplines are brought together. The band describes itself as an elegant mix between 'black metal, indiepop, krautrock, stoner and jazz with a dash of mathrock.
