Backgammon was the 9th most booked band after last year’s edition of Popronde, a Dutch talent show for national musical talent. On February 10th, his first album will be music for the masses at a special release party in Paradiso and there will be many eyes from many countries will be on the young talent. Tonight, Thijs from Backgammon will treat you with an intimate one-man show.

Banner ‘Man in ‘t Veld’ (Man in the Field) is a songwriter from The Hague. He’s been a self-taught guitarist and lyricist ever since the young age of 14 and the songs that he used to keep for himself, have been played live in tiny club venues ever since he was just 18 years old. His core sound is defined by the technique of finger-picking. Together with his backing band, Banner sounds grand, atmospheric and organic, without losing his authenticity. At this moment, he majors in vocals at the Herman Brood Academy. In June 2016, banner recorded his new EP in Antwerp, Belgium; he and his band are currently preparing for its release and for starting to play their music in larger venues for a bigger audience.
