Paardcafé: Holy Wave + Jellephant & The Phantoms

Wednesday 26 September 2018 2018

This band certainly lives up tho their name, Holy Wave creates fat layers of sound that flow over eachother. The waves of sound speak to the imagination and it’s not a weird idea that we put this band in the genre-drawer labeled ‘psychedelic garage-pop’. They are originally from El Paso, Texas and they are proud of the fact that they keep the reputation of ‘The Lone Star State’ for LSD-like sounds as high as it is. You can also hear this on their most recent album ‘Adult Fear’, that released in march this year, which, by the way, feels more relaxed and less hazy. Less hazy, we say, but during a live performance of this band it still feels like you are in a very mellow space trip.

The band of Jelle Haagsma will accompany Holy Wave this night. The appearance of Jellephant & The Phantoms is just as dreamy. Armed with a big variety of genres they are coming to the Paardcafé, because also Jellephant & The Phantoms are going to take you on a trip. This one will be a bit more raw because of the shoegaze-influences, more colourful because of the neo-psychedelics but most certainly, you will feel relaxed because of the surf that they integrate and take you along the surging musical waves this band produces.
