CUSTOMS

Friday 23 May 2014 2014

If Duran Duran’s Girls on film were actually guys, they would be called Customs. If The House of Love would speed up a notch or two, they would call themselves Customs. Imagine The Human League with intrusive guitars instead of synths: Customs. Customs guarantees pop songs bathing in melody, atmosphere and rhythmic edge, dressed in trench coats of mystery. Uninvited guests settling in a room that was not even vacant. Customs uses a voice, a pair of electric guitars, a bass guitar, a modest drum kit and an occasional keyboard.Recently, the band has released its third studio album, called 'The Market'. On this album Customs shows how dance-able their tunes can be, introducing influences from disco, glamrock and funk into their songs. The great vocals and lyrics that guide their songs are still evident, but Customs shows that they are not standing still. This way, they are slowly but steadily diverging from all possible genres, and becoming a genre on their own.

Support act tonight is another Belgian band: The Sedan Vault. For their third album, the band got in touch with Richard Woodcraft, who has previously worked with Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead. The result: ten powerful songs that combine indie and electro. Renowned for their wild and energetic performances, they will surely warm up the crowd tonight!
