MAITE HONTELE & LA NOVIA

International sound where Latin and pop come together

Saturday 5 December 2026

Trumpeter Maite Hontelé and bassist Adinda Meertins present LA NOVIA, a new international band in which Latin and pop come together in a contemporary, energetic, and accessible sound. Hontelé lived and worked in Colombia for nearly ten years, where she recorded five albums and collaborated with artists such as Rubén Blades, Oscar D’León, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Alain Pérez. Her work earned her two Latin GRAMMY nominations. Meertins performed with the Colombian pop band Monsieur Periné on stages across North and South America and Europe, and walked the (Latin) GRAMMY red carpet multiple times. Within LA NOVIA, she not only plays bass but also serves as co–bandleader, composer, and a key force behind the band’s sound and artistic direction.

Together, Hontelé and Meertins form the artistic core of the project. Live, LA NOVIA brings together an international lineup. The result is a concert that invites both attentive listening and movement. The debut album will be released in the fall of 2026 and was mixed in New York by Fab Dupont, known for his work with artists such as Bad Bunny and Snarky Puppy. After an international summer tour with performances in countries including Indonesia and France, a Dutch tour will follow in December.
