BIJI

Genre-blending hiphop amplifying Kurdish identity

Tuesday 29 September 2026

BIJI is a collaboration between Kurdish-Swedish artist and actor Robin Nazari and Stockholm-based director and music producer Maceo Frost. Together they form a creative force that brings music, film and culture together into an immersive audiovisual experience, rooted in identity, resistance and joy. Find them in PAARD on the 29th of September.

BIJI is more than a project and was born from a shared vision. The duo offers a powerful perspective on Kurdish life, love and celebration culture, giving voice to a long-silenced cultural narrative. Their sound is rooted in Kurdish and West Asian musical traditions and is reinterpreted into a vibrant, contemporary mix of hiphop, afrobeat, latin and dance, resulting in a globally resonant combination of beats and visuals that stands for freedom, expression and community.

BIJI’s mission is to reshape the perception of Kurdish identity and art. Coming from a background marked by war, displacement and the silencing of Kurdish voices, Robin translates this heritage into an uncompromising creative vision in which expressing identity, love and freedom is central, while showcasing the beauty of the Middle East from their own perspective.
