A Balladeer

Wednesday 10 October 2018 2018

For A Balladeer, the beginning of this year is in sign of writing new material. Good news of course: we can never get enough of the emotional singing, and honest and poetic song texts of Marinus de Goederen. The singer-songwriter tours along the best cafes of the Netherlands in Autumn, and as you’ll probably understand, he doesn’t skip Paardcafé! During this show the focus is at his narrative songs and new work is alternated with classics as ‘Swim With Sam’ and ‘Robin II’.

In the past, A Balladeer won the Publieksprijs van de Grote Prijs from the Netherlands and a Zilveren Harp. The second album ‘Where Are You, Bambi Woods?’ praised him with an Edison Nomination and debut single ‘Swim With Sam’ is in the Top 2000 for 10 years already. At the beginning of last year, Marinus de Goederen released the single ‘Mob Wife’, a duet with Sarah Bettens from K’s Choice.

Wonderfully playful was his anti-Christmas album which he started a crowdfunding action for and released in December. He didn’t had any trouble collecting it. Due to his loyal fan base, he had the budget he needed within only three days!

Paard in the Paardcafe

Rattling garage-rock and the better singer-songwriter: some concerts we originally programmed in the Small Hall of Paard, are suiting better at the homey and warm Paardcafe-stage. This is why you can see well-known acts in Paardcafe as a paid show, every now and then.

“ Tracks die een mens rillingen van ontroering, verbazing, verwarring, genot en bewondering bieden. Mooie teksten, dito stem. “
