The Belgian band, formerly a trio consisting of vocalist and guitarist Ruben Block, drummer Mario and bassist Paul van Bruystegem, is now a duo following the passing of the band’s iconic bassist, Monsieur Paul. Paul had left the band in 2023 due to health issues, but remained a close friend and brother to Mario and Ruben.
In September, a long-awaited new studio album will be released — the first since Colossus in 2017, and with that, the first official album without Monsieur Paul. With this new work, Triggerfinger shows that they are back, proving that they are one of the few authentic European rock bands to have outlasted trends and hypes.
