Get ready for SUPAFLY Festival, the festival where neo-soul, R&B, hip-hop, and (UK) jazz fuse together! On the 10th of October, PAARD will be the place to discover new music and enjoy fantastic live performances. Get ready to be surprised by a wide-ranging lineup featuring artists from all over the world and right from your own backyard. Expect performances by, among others: Kofi Stone, Moses Yoofee Trio, Nectar Woode & Dominique Fils-Aime.
Kofi Stone, a Birmingham native, is one of the most respected voices in British hip-hop. With his profound lyrics, powerful storytelling, and a unique blend of jazz, soul, and hip-hop, he has carved out a niche for himself in the music world, centered on honesty, vulnerability, and self-discovery. Inspired by his poet grandfather and his early love for soul, grime, and hip-hop, he built his career step by step, from recording through a telemarketing headset to international tours. With his recent collaboration with grime icon D Double E on “Flowers Flow (Remix),” he bridges different generations of British rap and solidifies his reputation as an authentic artist and masterful storyteller.
Moses Yoofee Trio is an up-and-coming jazz group from Berlin, Germany, that captivates audiences with their distinctive blend of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and soul. The trio, consisting of pianist/keyboardist/producer Moses Yoofee, bassist Roman Klobe-Barangă, and drummer Noah Fürbringer, has quickly made a name for itself thanks to their innovative sound and compelling live performances.
The trio was founded in February 2020 when Moses met Roman at the Jazz Institute in Berlin and suggested bringing in Noah, who was studying in Mannheim at the time. The lockdowns resulting from the pandemic gave them the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the creative process, which contributed to their early development.
Nectar Woode is a British artist with Ghanaian roots who delivers a unique blend of soul, neo-soul, folk, jazz, and gospel. Raised in Milton Keynes as the daughter of creative Ghanaian-British parents, she explores themes of heritage, identity, and self-discovery in her music. With successful EPs such as Nothing to Lose and Head Above Water, she has built a strong reputation, with sold-out shows and opening acts for renowned artists. Her talent was even recognized by Elton John, who compared her to Nina Simone. In addition, she is a prominent voice within the British independent soul and jazz scene, thanks in part to her monthly radio show for Women in Jazz on Soho Radio, and she continues to reach an ever-growing international audience with her personal and sincere music.
Dominique Fils-Aimé is a Montreal-based, two-time JUNO Award-winning singer and songwriter who is considered one of the most impressive voices in contemporary vocal jazz. Inspired by African-American musical traditions, she creates music that is both emotionally and socially engaged. With her powerful voice, innovative musical approach, and strong stage presence, she has built a deep connection with her audience worldwide. She has headlined the Montréal International Jazz Festival, opened for artists such as Melody Gardot, Diana Krall, and Jamie Cullum, and garnered acclaim for her performances at the Blue Note Jazz Club and the Monterey Jazz Festival, taking listeners on an intense and unifying musical journey.
