This? This is intense, blue-tinted rock’n’roll on high level. Southside Johnny is called the godfather of the Jersey Shore sound. Together with his band the Asbury Jukes he is a big name  in the American music scene for more than forty years. Their music is placed in the same vein as that of Bruce Springsteen.

Boss above boss
That is not very surprising, since the first three albums were produced by Steven van Zandt (guitarist Bruce Springsteen’s E Band) and contain many songs written by ‘The Boss’. But later released work is just as vibrant, full of bright blazers, delicate and festive songs. Moreover, Southside has just such a perfect, blue weathered voice that knows how to get to the depths of your soul. Together with the Asbury Jukes he negotiated thirty alsbums full of raw, rootsy, bluesy rock, and they played their acclaimed live shows in every corner of the world. ‘I Do not Want To Go Home’ became the Southside anthem. A mix of melodic horn riffs and soul-searching texts.

Even after decades of having been on the stage, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes is still able to put down a legendary energetic live show.
