Pianist and musicologist Ralph van Raat studied piano and musicology at the Conservatory in Amsterdam. He graduated in both studies with honors. In line with his piano study, he continued studying at the Claude Helffer in Paris, Ursula Oppens in Chicago (Northwetsern University) and Pierre-Laurent Aimard in Cologne. He received many awards, like the first price at the Inernational Gaudemus Interpreter Competition, the Philip Morris Art Price, the International Borletti-Buitoni Fellowship and many others.

Master pianist Ralph van Raat performs solorecitals and concerts all around the globe. He played as a soloist from the Royal Concertbuilding to the Los Angeles Philharmonic and even in the China National Orchestra. On June 12th, he will play the amazing music of Radiohead at PAARD, in sublime orchestration that Christopher O’Riley made under the name ‘True Love Waits’. O’Rileys orchestration impressed van Raat, who will combine them with classical works of Debussy and Gershwin and to Radiohead related music of Adams and Franssens.
