Pianist and musicologist Ralph van Raat studied piano and musicology at the Conservatory in Amsterdam. He graduated in both studies with honors. In line with his piano study, he continued studying at the Claude Helffer in Paris, Ursula Oppens in Chicago (Northwetsern University) and Pierre-Laurent Aimard in Cologne. He received many awards, like the first price at the Inernational Gaudemus Interpreter Competition, the Philip Morris Art Price, the International Borletti-Buitoni Fellowship and many others.
