DE NIEMANDERS [publiek]

Thursday 1 July 2021 8374

“What would have happened to you if you had changed direction and ended up in prison at crucial moments in your life?”

The stories from Dutch prisons are the common thread in the live show of De Niemanders. Together with – and inspired by – the inmates, Rocco (Donnerwetter) and Wout (Shaking Godspeed) write a unique album that tells about the prisoners and their lives. A meeting and collaboration between “inside” and “outside”, bouncing from fast (punk) rock to swinging afrobeat and rootsy psychedelics. You can see them in our Main Hall on 12 May.

As embedded musicians, songwriters Rocco Ostermann (Donnerwetter) and Wout Kemkens (Shaking Godspeed) scour prisons for special stories and musicians. In search of the turning points and key moments in the lives of those who have made the wrong choices. The outcasts, the criminals, the long-sentenced. Detainees.

“ Een van de meest indrukwekkende Nederlandse rockalbums van de laatste jaren **** “
