Meet The Urban Pro’s X GUAP Night

Friday 23 October 2020 2020

This event will take place via a livestream.

Meet The Urban Pro’s is back with a 7th edition during the Haagse Popweek! 2020 is an extremely eventful year, from a pandemic to (often fierce) discussions about racism, diversity and inclusion. The world was silent and loud at the same time. How do we deal with this as artists, entrepreneurs and organizations? What can we save and how far can we plan for the future? During this edition we will talk to professionals from The Hague about how they have made themselves visible in recent times.

We will close the evening with a special COVID-proof edition of GUAP Night, the evening for talent from The Hague in the field of hip hop and R&B. During GUAP Night you can get acquainted with known and unknown talent from the Hague scene through short showcases.

The conversation about diversity and inclusion feels like something of the future. A picture on paper, but what are cultural institutions doing to apply this now? Especially, because it is a major priority in the Arts Plan for 2021-2024. Acts GUAP Night
Millionwayz
Millionwayz is a group from The Hague consisting of GMF, L Blackz, 21Rome and Limar. Millionwayz consists of more than just influences from rap & trap. The group also uses Caribbean influences in combination with afro vibes. The artists first had a solo career, until the collaboration on the song ‘Attraction’ arose. From that moment on, the artists decided to work together as a group.

Dimoh
Dimoh’s ability to sing and rap gives him the edge to be more versatile with his creativity indulging in genres like Jazz, Pop/soul, RnB, Afro pop and HipHop. One of his key inspirations is RnB icon Chris Brown. He credits his rap technique to Harlem born rapper Dave East.

Reigno
Martial arts rap is the appropriate term for Reigno’s music. The English-speaking rapper from Rotterdam translates the energy of martial arts into sound: “Causing head fractures, with Martial Rap tactics.”
The explosiveness and dynamism of Kung Fu is expressed in his tracks and on stage. Reigno’s raw voice and tight flow reach the listener’s ears with the precision and power of high flying kicks. Reigno has already been able to show its qualities on various stages, including Poppodium 013, Paard and Rotown. His talents were also recognized by American hip-hop icon Hopsin, as a result of which he stood in front of a sold-out hall of the Melkweg in 2018.

Safe concert visit in PAARD
We want to continue as much as possible of the current program in an adapted manner. We do this in the safest way possible and within government regulations. For this concert it means that a maximum of 30 people can be present who can visit the PAARD. Of course, our (strict) 1.5m measures that have already been implemented will remain in force. There are also a number of new rules: mouth masks are mandatory in the building (except on the seat). PAARD’s catering industry is closed, but visitors are allowed to consume their own water. We hope that everyone will continue to do their very best with us to comply with the measures within and outside PAARD. For more information click here.
