With performances by Pieter Nooten & Lucas Stam, Ron Boots and Kleefstra/Bakker/Kleefstra: MBNT presents a program of nu-ambient, neo-classical, Berliner school cosmic wave and improvised drone-music. MBNT is a new platform aimed at nu-ambient and neo-classical music within The Netherlands.Internationally there has been an exponentially increasing attention for nu-ambient and neo-classical. Musicians like Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm and Sigur Ros are crossing the borders of pop-music. Young composers turn their backs to abstract serialism and re-discover the power of atmospheric 'feeling'-music. The new group of ambient and neo-classical composers gathers on labels like Erased Tapes, Denovali and Rockt Girl, and is touring all over the world right now.About the artistsPieter Nooten and Lucas StamPieter Nooten was a member of Clan of Xymox in the 80's and has recorded albums for the famous British label 4AD. On this label he has collaborated with the likes of This Mortal Coil and Michael Brook. The past years he has been focussing on the creation of CD's for the English label Rocket Girl. The last one, a double-CD called Haven, has been getting an impressive amount of positive feedback from all over the world. This has given Nooten the opportunity to perform his music live multiple times, playing shows at festivals like Magneetfestival and Intermediale-festival (Poland). Pieter Nooten will perform together with cellist Lucas Stam as well as video-artist Miryam Chachmany.Kleefstra/Bakker/KleefstraThe music that Kleefstra/Bakker/Kleefstra create is dignified by the poetic character of broad spectrums of soundscapes. The recently release LP Griis was described by The Wire as 'an icy enclave out of frozen drones and amplifier crackle'.Ron BootsRon Boots is a Dutch ambient-musicians who creates instrumental electronic music. Tangerine Dream and Steve Roach are his biggest inspirations, and even the books of Stephen King and Tolkien are a big influence on his music.Throughout the years, Boots has produced more than 40 albums.
