HagueTalks: How can we invest in sustainable peace?

INTERACTIVE DEBATE-
For the start of the Just Peace Festival, Hague Talks organizes a thrilling program once again. This time at Paard. Speakers out of the field, social entrepreneurs, activists and artists will talk with you about sustainable peace. What can we do to break the cycle of violent conflict? When you watch the news you might get the impression that these violent conflicts never end. And that peace – mostly sustainable peace – is rare. During HagueTalks we dive deeper into the cycle of conflict – from the root causes, to violent conflict, to building peace and we hear from multiple speakers what can be done to break the cycle of conflict.

The speakers all have experience in working on lasting peace. At HagueTalks they share their personal experiences and insights on the following questions:

What causes conflicts? Are there new, effective methods we can share that will tackle the causes and prevent war? What can we do to tend to resist seeing other people negative?
How do we get out of a conflict? Experienced peace negotiators bring us to their worlds and help us to understand the ways in which warring parties can be encouraged to come to the table.
What makes peace sustainable? How can we assess sustainability? Hear from those who have hands-on knowledge of the systems and ideas necessary for peace.
