Vibraphonist and singer Roy Ayers is one of the most loving and respected jazz- and R&B artists of today. He transformed from a praised jazz-vibraphonist to a popular R&B band-leader, and is an iconic figure whose music is sampled by big hitmakers as Erykah Badu, A Tribe Called Quest, Tupac and Ice Cube. Everyone knows his most famous song ‘Everyone Loves The Sunshine’, right?
Togo All Stars
Influenced by the highlife music in the 50s, Ochestre Polyrythmo, Afrobeat, Afrofunk and above all voodoo rhythm, the Togo All Stars take you on a musical journey along the West-Coast of Africa. The 8-headed band with quirky Togolese sound will let you mirage in African vibes and realise that Togo embodies deep traditions as well as it does modernity. The Togo All Stars bring driving rhythms and blazers – which no one ever heard outside of Africa. If you want to hear the original rhythms of one of the most funky gods on earth, you need to take a look at the map again and go to Togo. Or to a concert of the Togo All Stars, they honour the musical history… Voodoo forms the musical core of the All Stars. Voodoo evolves around music. Every god has his own rhythms and chants and it is completely logic to mix it with funk.

Strict Nurse takes over the Paardcafe during Diverge. She is born and raised in the Deep South of the USA but lives in our city for 4 years already. Leilani Trowel, how her friends and family know her, works as a nurse and makes realistic and eclectic soundscapes when she is off the clock. Expect synthesizers, effect pedals, cassette tapes and parts of morbid text.
Lifeless Past @ Paardcafe
The two-headed band Lifeless Pas does already have an International tour on his name and we expect they will get their crowd crazy. The Dutch bandmembers met on coincidence and make music together ever since. Spicy basslines, electronic drumbeats and lyrics from their own experience take you on a dreamy, spooky journey while you feel the urge to dance. And they also have recently released the new Split EP on bandcamp. The deathrock- and new wave-band takes the first two songs of the EP for his own cost.
