De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, affectionately known as De Jeugd, is a Dutch hip-hop group that does not turn their hands for lyrics as dry as the moon and beats that make your mouth water like a hippo. In 2005 Willie Wartaal, Vjeze Fur, Faberyayo and permanent producer Bas Bron broke through with the mega hit ‘Watskeburt ?!’ and since then the proverbial bear has been on the loose. We are now quite a few years later and the Youth is a fixed value in the Dutch music world. They appear frequently at Pinkpop and Lowlands and even belong to the Werchter line-up. Meanwhile, a lot of albums have been delivered with quite a few hits. Sterrenstof, Buma in mijn zak, Hollereer, Shenkie, Wopwopwop, De Formule, Manon… do we have to keep going?
