ALTIN GÜN

Stirring mix of Turkish folk, psychedelic, funk and rock

Saturday 30 November 2019 8368

Altin Gün knows how to win all of The Netherlands (and other countries) over with their uplifting mix of Turkish folk, psychedelic, funk and rock. A bunch of dusty vinyls with Turkish 70s rock, an obsession with Anatolian music and a Facebook message to find members for the band and bam! There’s Altin Gün for you. It turns out that’s the perfect formula, because in a very short time the band performed at festivals as Lowlands, Best Kept Secret and Down The Rabbit Hole. They might be the most talked-about bands right now and on November 30th they’ll perform in the big venue at PAARD.

Founder Jasper Verhulst toured with Jacco Garder as a band member through Istanbul and got inspired by the culture and sounds of the special city. The Facebook message brought the band together, band members of Jacco Garder, Mauskovic Dance Band and Jungle By Night came together and formed Altin Gün. Different worlds come together and produce a refreshing and danceable sound.
