Alexandra Alden started writing lyrics and poetry at a young age. Her curiosity and need to ‘compress everything that matters into its simplest form’ remains the driving force behind Alden’s intricate and heartfelt stories. Some have described her music as ‘minimalist folk’ with the sentiments of Nick Drake and Joni Mitchell, inspired by the warmth and sunshine of the Mediterranean with the distant undercurrents of a British heritage. On January 30th, 2022 she will be in the PaardCafé.
Alexandra’s past works include The Curious Child EP (2012) and the award-winning Wild Honey (2018) released on MARS Worldwide. She was invited to be on the jury of the hit TV show, the ‘X Factor Malta’ for two consecutive seasons, thus becoming a household name in Malta and touring Malta, the Netherlands, Benelux and Scandinavia. Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, Alden has become part of the ‘Batavierhuis’ in Rotterdam, performed at Eurosonic Noorderslaag (2020), North Sea Round Town (2019-2021) while also appearing in the cultural national TV show ‘Free Sounds’ to to watch a preview of her new album.
