The last big thing happening around Amsterdam Klezmer Band is the Szikra project, a collaboration with the Hungarian band Söndörgő. The superground (with twelve members) made an album in 2018. On the record, musicians can be heard in an (almost) chaotic way. Party song after party song can be heard, sitting still is out of the question. We don’t know what the band will offer us in 2022. A party in d-minor! On february 26, 2022 we have invited our friends of Amsterdam Klezmer Band again. The band is bringing world music of the highest order, since 1996. The (magnificent) seven started their career with music that has its origins in Yiddish party music. These days, the fellowship around klezmer-guru Alec Kopyt has a lot more genres up their sleeves and the band had spots on festivals like North Sea Jazz, Lowlands and Sziget. On thing is for sure; Amsterdam Klezmer Band will turn every venue on it’s head. Party time!
