Wednesday 18 September 2019 2019

The goth-rock veteran Wayne Hussey has built a reputation for himself as the frontman of The Mission and as the guitarist in Sisters of Mercy. In 2002 he started playing solo gigs that consisted of songs from The Mission, new songs and a few surprising covers. All of it revolving around the acoustic guitar, piano and Hussey’s deep voice. His autobiography ‘Salad Daze’ is to be released in September and to celebrate, Wayne Hussey will bring his acoustic show to Paard.

In his younger years, Hussey was inspired by Marc Bolan and his band T.Rex. He rebelled against his religious parents, who wanted him to become a missionary. Instead he became a musician. After he gained fame as part of the dance-pop band Dead or Alive, things went fast and he became a key figure in the goth-rock scene. Together with Julianne Regan he released an album called Curious in 2011, which he followed up with almost entirely acoustic Songs of Candlelight & Razorblades.
