Throughout the years of his career, the Portuguese musician Marco Santos, got inspired by different cultures and many collaborations with multicultural and multidisciplinary artists all over the world. As been his mission sharing his passion for art.

As previous editions Marco Santos will invite on stage several artistic friends to be part of the United Art Movement. This year all with different backgrounds and nationalities creating a magical evening embracing new encountering’s, rhythmical conversations, musical improvisations, fiery flamenco dancing, visual arts, body percussion, new compositions and traditional music from different roots, having as main goal:

To promote the union of the various forms of art in a single stage and thus to praise art as the best tool to unify people

Line-up Festival UNITED #6 – Marco Santos & Friends 2019:

Triktopus (Portugal) – João Frade (accordeon), Diogo Duque (trompet) & Marco Santos (drums). The versatility and various influences of these musicians naturally combine to give rise to new sound environments and new discoveries influenced by strong ethnic roots with jazz combined with electronic elements

Kees Gelderblom (Holland) – A master of Brazilian guitar

Conchita (Holland) – Incredible Flamenco dancer.

Sinan Arat (Kurdistan / Turkey) – Amazing musician with his roots on Sufi music, singing and playing the Ney flute.

Veran Nunda (Surinam) – One of the best Dholak players in Holland

Thea van Doorn (Holland) – Her speciality is making paintings and drawings of musicians.

Lise Lore (Scotland/Holland) – Draws and paints art that analyse anatomy until there’s nothing but movement, whilst having conversations with music.

DJ Meneer Jansen (Holland) – Uses vinyl from artists all over the world.

Paulo Bouwman (Cabo Verde) – Guitar player, strong Cape Verdean background, combined with influences of many world music collaborations.

Marco Santos (Portugal) – performing his solo project Common Ground – from minimalism to improvisation, from body to instrument, from organic to electronic… leading us to several paths / atmospheres but always united … Common Ground.
