Those who listen carefully to the lyrics by Tom McRae are undoubtedly touched. Although they often derive from a dark view on life, a perspective we all know and experience every now and then, the songs are of great beauty. In between the songs Tom McRae is equally graceful and your typical British gentleman.

When McRae published his untitled album in 2000, he not only gains musical recognition but also a nomination for the famous Mercury Prize for best British album of the year. During the following years five more albums are released, all increasingly positive minded, without losing their musical genius lyrics.

On his most recent album ‘From The Lowlands’ his characteristic style is recognisable. Despite his characteristic sound influences from Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Neil Young are easily heard. Does this make him less authentic? No way, we believe in every chord he plays and every word he sings.
