The Essex Green derived from a collective that arose in the 90’s and was named Elephant 6 back then. They released their debut EP, which left them in the same catergorie as Neutral Milk Hotel, A Hawk and a Hacksaw, Of Montreal and The Ladybug Transistor. Their albums The Longest Goodbye (2003) and Cannibal Sea (2006) received a lot of positie response and in june 2018 they released the highly appreciated ‘Hardly Electronic’ via Merge Records.

'Well-crafted folk-pop draped in melancholy and ‘60s-ish psychedelic vibes, with occasional forays into rock and country.'
