Live, it gets serious: chaotic, hypnotic, unpredictable, with rhythms that make you move whether you want to or not. The band hadn’t played a single live show before a booking agency and record label had already come knocking. Roadburn and Bevrijdingsfestival soon followed. The press describes The Bird Experience’s sound on their self-titled record as: “Pure psychedelic poetry. Blues from the sixties, the soul revue of James Brown, funk, swamp, jazz, and avant-garde. Nine tracks in which it all comes together. Not sixties nostalgia, but proof that these genres are still alive and kicking.”

Led by composer, singer, and harmonica player Mees Vullings (previously known from The Hague psychedelic rock band Heath), The Bird Experience brings a six-to-twelve-piece lineup to the stage.
