Tangerine Dream is one of the most important bands from the early days of electronic music. Since its formation in 1967, the band has helped develop an impressive list of genres. They stood at the cradle of Berlin School, Krautrock and New Age. The band has known many different formations with pioneers of Berlin electronic music such as Edgar Froese, Klaus Schulze, Peter Baumann and many others. May 31 we can proudly welcome the band in PAARD.
De invloeden van de band zijn ongekend; In het nummer Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds bezongen The Beatles de band als ”With tangerine trees and marmalade skies”. Dankzij de hitserie Stranger Things kregen afgelopen jaren drie nummers aandacht onder een jongere doelgroep. Verder gaven grootheden als M83, Cut Copy, Kasabian en DJ Shadow aan sterk geinspireerd te zijn door Tangerine Dream. Michael Jackson benoemde het als ”as one of my favourite bands”.
