SYMPHONIC JUNCTION: CHARLIE CHAPLIN”s ‘THE CIRCUS’

One of the most famous movie stars of all time and the king of silent films is, of course, Charlie Chaplin. The Residentie Orkest will perform its classic ‘The Circus’ with live music by Chaplin himself. In the 1928 silent film, Chaplin plays a drifter who runs from the police, accidentally disrupts a circus performance, and is immediately hired as a clown. The film became a huge hit and Chaplin received no fewer than four Oscar nominations for it. Experience this spectacle on 11 May 2024 in the Grote Zaal.
