One of the most recognizable songwriters in the Netherlands, that’s what you can call Spinvis. Erik de Jong has been working under the pseudonym since 2002, and since then has almost exclusively released classics. Take Goodbye, Justine Keller from 2011 or Dagen Van Gras, Dagen Van Stro, they all have a sound that is so recognizable Spinvis that it can be called a genre in itself. Now the new album is 7.6.9.6. almost out and the first songs that have come out suggest that something beautiful is coming. On 27 March, 2022, Spinvis will be in PAARD’s Grote Zaal in the afternoon with his band!

The first single leading up to 7.6.9.6. was ‘The Day That Richard Krajicek Wimbledon Won’ and with that De Jong immediately proved himself to be an extremely skilled songwriter. His recognizable style, the lo-fi instruments and the lyrics that are sometimes difficult to follow, just like a stream of thoughts, are filled with memories, make this a classic Spinvis again.

“There were rondos and beer. There was a lot of sun on average. The day Richard Krajicek won Wimbledon.”

As a prelude to the new record, the song left both old-timers and new fans on the edge of their seats. Because after Train, Vuur, Dageraad the expectations are again unprecedented high, but as someone who can surpass them, that is Spinvis.

“ Spinvis is nog steeds buitencategorie “
