Simon Joyner‘s friendship with Michael Krassner and Fred Lonberg-Holm goes back to the late ’90’s and the records Joyner recorded in Chicago with Krassner at the helm and Lonberg-Holm contributing string and horn arrangements. The albums they made, “Yesterday, Tomorrow & In Between”, “The Lousy Dance” and “Hotel Lives” featured a wrecking crew of Chicago musicians including Krassner, Lonberg-Holm, Glenn Kotche, Scott Tuma, Ken Vandermark, Guillermo Gregorio, Jeb Bishop, Jessica Billey, Jim Becker, Matt Schneider, Via Nuon, among others.
