An exciting mix of pop & jazz with a symphonic edge

Ruben Hein is no stranger to PAARD. In 2018, the year when he won “Wie is de Mol?” and was shown at Eurosonic Noorderslag, he also performed with us. In the spring he will come to The Hague with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. The club tour is accompanied by an EP with a new repertoire. The work is an exciting mix of pop & jazz with a symphonic edge. The singer and pianist, who is widely praised for his characteristic, warm voice and quirky piano playing, will be with us in the Grote Zaal on 15 February.

According to colleagues, NJJO is a flavor maker (Winner of Silver Nutcracker) on the stages. The 18 selected top musicians undergo a two-year coaching program led by Ruben Hein. This is linked to various workshops, performances and national and international cooperation projects. Previous artistic leaders of the NJJO were: Anton Goudsmit, Martin Fondse, Eric Vloeimans, Benjamin Herman and Peter Guidi.
