In 1984, 3 years after Bob Marley’s tragic death, his album ‘Legend’ was released. With over 25 million registered sales, this compilation album has become one of the all-time bestsellers. To this day, the album still appears in numerous charts, reaching number 1 in the UK, top 5 in the US, and top 15 in the Netherlands. Currently, ‘Legend’ has spent 800 weeks on the American Billboard album charts, making it the second longest-charting album ever. An exceptional achievement for a reggae album. In 2024, this album will have been released for 40 years, and Rootsriders’ tour will pay homage to it.
