The band’s origins lie in the iconic apartment building Het Strijkijzer, where frontman Scott Beekhuizen (Prins S.) met guitarist Marne Miesen. During ping-pong sessions they discovered their shared love of music (and goats), after which childhood friend Daniel Ortgiess joined as producer. And so Prins S. en De Geit was born. By now, they have become an indispensable part of the musical landscape of our little corner of the world. With the debut single Nacht (2021) and the album Rood Staan Hard Gaan (2022), they burst onto the Dutch stage immediately: from Noorderslag and Dauwpop to Lowlands, Appelpop, Concert at Sea, Sziget and Into The Woods. Their performances are no ordinary shows, but complete events — where, as Scott himself puts it, you “consciously forget the daily grind together for a moment and are lifted up as a group.”
For more than a decade, het Residentie Orkest has been collaborating with PAARD in the Symphonic Junction series: A variety of special concerts where the worlds of classical and pop music collide.
