PRETTY & NICE

Support: Marty GraveyardPretty & Nice is what they’re called and that’s exactly what you get. The Boston quartet's songs seem to have been written on a surfboard underneath a sunny sky with a beach party in mind. The cheery upbeat pop songs are obviously influenced by musicians like Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, The Kinks and Feelies, but are very Pretty & Nice at the same time.

Over the past few years Jeremy Mendicino, Holden Lewis and Roger Lussier have released several EP’s and a full album called ‘Get Young’. Pitchfork, AV Club and MTV Hive have praised the positive pop vibe, that emerges right out of the new wave from the seventies. Their experience during the American South By South West (SXSW) Festival, was put on camera by director Daniel Danger and Scout Shannon to be edited into a music video for their latest song ‘Q_Q’. In April ‘Q_Q’ was the first song from the new album ‘Golden Rules for Golden People’ to be release through Equal Vision Records.

Dreading the upcoming winter? Then it’s time for a late summer dance with Pretty & Nice.

“Tucked away in a basement somewhere on the outskirts of Boston, there is a secret lair filled with motley recording equipment, and a neatly organized cache of guitars, synths and other flashing electronics. The stockpile of gadgetry is owned and operated by two young gentlemen who call themselves Pretty & Nice”.

Support act this night will be Marty Graveyard & The Working Men: a fitting powerpop band that captivates their audience with their smooth vocal harmonies and catchy riffs.
