Friday 7 November 2014 2014

Support: Cookie & The Crunch and Yvon MockingTrip To DoverTrip to Dover is an alternative indie electro band from the Netherlands that makes driving, melodic songs with elements of rock, 80’s synthpop and DJ-style electronics. The band was formed in Brighton (UK) by vocalist/guitarist Olga and synth-player Johannes, who moved there after deciding their careers in architecture and politics were not what they were after. From there they self-released two EP’s. 2014 will see the release of their third EP, written in the aftermath of their return to Holland due to the loss of three close family members to cancer. Titled "Kiss Fight Dance" it stands for the ways to cope with tragedy and life in general. Live shows have always been the core of the band’s development, which sometimes performs as a duo but mostly as a three piece with a drummer, hence they toured through many countries in Europe and the USA.

Cookie & The Crunch
They play heavy rock with grooves, lead by singer Willeke Brittijn. The Band has their roots in The Hague, the city of Rock. On the 14th of May they presented their EP ‘Dragon’ and now they are back in Paardcafé to support Trip To Dover!

Yvon Mocking
Powerpop with guitars: that’s what Yvon Mocking and her band rock on stage. Powerfull popsongs with fierce guitar riffs and a clear voice which effortlessly sings the poppy melodies. The music is just like Yvon Mocking and her the band: full of energy, amenable and straight forward. Her first songs were recorded at the Sound Vision Studio’s where Hans Eijkenaar (Anouk, The Voice of Holland) laid down the drums. Tonight she is here acoustic, and 100% full of energy.
