Thursday 1 October 2015 2015

Ooh lala: who walks past Paardcafé tonight, will be surprised by some fine tunes in the language of love: French. Pili is a French pianist and singer-songwriter, who was born into a family of musicians and is currently living in The Netherlands. Inspired by the music of Erik Satie, Yann Tiersen, Tori Amos or William Sheller, Pili writes in both English and French. She reveals her universe of cascading melodies and sensitive lyrics, in an atmosphere of intimacy and luminescence. Katell is originally from France. She left Paris in 2006 to settle in Enschede (Netherlands) in order to pursue her vocal studies at the ArtEZ Conservatory. During her studies, she started to write and compose her own titles. In 2010, she won the prestigious singing contest ‘Concours de la Chanson de l’Alliance Française’ in Amstelveen and finished her studies. In 2012, she released her first EP called 'Emmène-moi’. The famous chansonnière Liesbeth List hosted the presentation evening. She toured "Emmène-moi" with the band in various theatres in the Netherlands. Meanwhile, she has composed new songs. Her album “Cœur d’Artichaut” has been released in November 2014 . The single “Vite Vite!’, is Katell’s song of praise about the cycling race of her homeland.
