MICHA

As a five-year-old boy, Micha fell in love with music and, with the help of his family, played his first songs. In the years that followed, as a small boy he proudly played along with his father, where he learned to perform as a street musician and get close to people. From an early age, it was clear to Micha and everyone around him: Micha is going into music. Micha attended music school in Zwolle, but school was not for him. Stubborn as he can sometimes be, he decided to quit school and explore the music industry further on his own. On 16 April, this up-and-coming singer will perform in our Kleine Zaal!

Although Micha was previously part of a pop duo, in 2023 he decided it was time to focus on his solo career. He spent three months in Nashville, TN, working with Femke Weidema and her team on his debut EP, which he released in 2024. Almost a year later, he travelled again to Nashville, where he is busy finalising his debut album, which will be released in 2025.

Luc Mats translates recognizable feelings of the Gen Z generation into energetic, emotional English-language pop that you immediately hum along to. He describes his style as ‘happy sad pop’: music you can sing along to in the car, feel quietly in your room, or experience full of energy on stage.

As the winner of the national Kunstbende final, Luc performed on stages such as Paradiso, 013, and Hullabaloo, played support shows for MICHA, Inge Lamboo, and Lenny Monsou, and received airplay on 3FM. In 2025, he gave his first headline show at Hedon Zwolle, where he presented his debut EP, and played in Berlin just last February.
