FRAZEY FORD

Monday 25 May 2026

Frazey Ford is one of Canada’s most distinctive voices, a singer-songwriter whose music defies easy categorization. As a founding member of the folk trio The Be Good Tanyas, Ford helped spark a roots revival in the early 2000s that blended Americana, folk, and alt-country.

Frazey Ford’s lyrics speak of both personal and political awakenings, delivered with a voice that is at once intimate and deeply compelling. Her phrasing is loose and expressive, often floating just behind the beat, creating a distinctive rhythmic feel that is instantly recognizable. Frazey’s music is fearless in its softness and bold in its tenderness. She doesn’t need to raise her voice to be heard, instead, she draws you in with vulnerability, honesty, and a voice unlike any other. Whether she channels soul, folk, or R&B, her songs feel lived-in, sincere, and rooted in the complexity of human experience.
