WITH EDDY & LES VEDETTES & TESS ET LES MOUTONS

How fatal was Edith Piaf for Yves Montand, Georges Moustaki and Charles Aznavour? Did you know that Gilbert Bécaud, Serge Gainsbourg and Sacha Distel fell for the same woman? Who was she? And who was Mathilde for Jacques Brel?
After the praised programme Chanson. Une Belle Histoire, with author Bart Van Loo, Eddy et les Vedettes is back with a completely new chanson programme. The Hague’s chanson band Tess et les Moutons is invited to join forces for a chanson night pur sang at Paard, simply called: Chansons au Cheval.

Eddy et les Vedettes
True femmes fatales such as Juliette Gréco, Edith Piaf, Françoise Hardy, Jane Birkin and other Brigitte Bardots didn’t just make the hearts of their listeners beat faster, they also enchanted their male colleagues. Chansons fatales brings les petites histoirs des grandes dames. Without going after the sensational stories,’Les Eddy’s’ present this female repertoire from the highest order in a sultry way. And to add more excitement to this ardour, the band extends itself with a brass section hors catégorie. A  new tour obviously comes with a new album, obviously titled Chansons Fatales.

Tess et les Moutons
The Hague’s French chanson band, Tess et les Moutons, aims to put French music in the spotlight and gives the French language an impuls by bringing the classics in a totally accessible and modern way: by adding a bit of rock ’n roll to it and by making the lyrics more understandable by singing the songs in French and Dutch or English. In the past few years they played at festivals such as Sniester and The Hague Popweek, they opened up for Gregory Page at Paard van Troje and regularly hit stages in other cities and towns.

“ In Frank Mercelis schuilt net zo goed een France Gall als een Jacques Brel en een Charles Aznavour. “
