The band has the original line-up since 1974: singer Tineke Schoemaker, Johnny and Guus LaPoirte on the guitar, Han van Dam, piano, Bob Dros, drums and Jan Willem Sligting on the bass. On the occasion of the 45th birthday, Barrelhouse plays some of the older songs from the first albums: ‘Only a Fool’, ‘Every Night is Saturday Night’, ‘Beware, I’m in the Mood’, to name a few .
The last album was perhaps their most personal to date, no cut-and-paste in the studio, but looking at each other, tapping and playing. That approach was clearly appreciated: ‘Almost There’ was awarded with an Edison!
