Support: Casa de la Muerte. If you feel like an indoor dance party where French chansons, ska and reggae are flawlessly combined, the French gentlemen of Babylon Circus are the perfect solution. Their amazing on-stage attitude temporarily turns your world upside down during their live performances, which are filled with sensational sounds and stubborn attitudes.

David Baruchel and Manuel Nectoux formed the band in 1995. At first it was meant to be ska-oriented, but it wasn’t long before the musically gifted troublemakers started combining ska, reggae, punk and French folk music, which resulted in the sound the band is now known for: this contagious mix is now Babylon Circus.

After starting out with two members they have now grown to nine members, and are following in the footsteps of for example Mano Negra, Manu Chao, The Skatalites, The Clash and Rashid Taha. After lead vocalist David Baruchel got into a serious accident after a concert in Moscow, the band decided not to play for a few years. With the support of his bandmembers, David slowly recovered from his skull fracture and they have been back and going full speed ever since. In August 2013 their new album ‘Never Stop’ will be released.

The fact that they will ‘Never Stop’ is something we certainly take comfort in. Join us for a happy dance when the gentlemen are here to fill the venue with their danceable tunes.
