It’s tangible that Ane Brun has a strong passion for beautiful folk music. Inspired by Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush, the Scandinavian artist single-handedly mesmerizes the European audience with her haunting voice and songs.

Brun learned how to play the guitar as a student and gained international fame with her album ‘Spending Time With Morgan’. Shortly after this success, she is diagnosed with a very rare auto-immune disease called Lupus, which she only recently talked about. This period in her life has been a black page, but it has also inspired her musical output in a positive way: she reinvented herself as a singer-songwriter. Nowadays, Brun manages to touch the audience with her melancholic sounds even more than she did before. She sounds confident, wise and mature, but she has kept her mesmerizing timbre that makes her so incredibly mysterious.

May this year Brun will be releasing a special album covering her oeuvre. The 32 songs are both old and new songs and a perfect reason for Brun to go on tour and visit our little town of The Hague. It promises to be a remarkable night.

BCC on ‘It All Starts With One’:

‘Brun’s back catalogue is one which grows larger and even stronger with It All Starts With One, and she has managed to create her finest record yet. It is one which doesn’t so much shine, but glimmer with subtle brilliance all the way through.’
