Elektro Guzzi [AT]
Elektro Guzzi are a drummer, a bass player and a guitar player. But, they play techno, and they do it live, so no computers, no synths and no drum machines. They themselves are the machines, playing with almost computer-like precision.
Monolake [DE] – Live Surround (Visuals by Tarik Barri [NL])
Live Surround is based on the fact that there is not much history in multichannel club-sound yet. Monolake tries to find out how to exploit the artistic possibilities of surround sound in a club situation. For Live Surround, Robert Henke collaborates with visual artist Tarik Barri.
Jacek Sienkiewicz [PL]
Jacek Sienkiewicz started his foray into electronic music as a Detroit Techno/Chicago House DJ in Poland in the mid-90s. He soon ditched DJ’ing after discovering analogue sequencing and synths and started making his own music. It is his own label Recognition Records that has been the most important factor in realizing Jacek’s unique vision of club music – dance floor-friendly, while retaining a certain intelligence and complexity.
Kleine zaal:
Ulf Eriksson [SE]
Ulf Eriksson might not be a name every techno fan recognizes, but chances are they’ve probably heard a record released by his label. Ulf is the man responsible for what is one of the most consistently high quality techno labels about: Kontra-Musik.
Senking [DE]
Senking combines a contemporary interpretation of ‘90s drum and bass with the kind of sound design that distinguishes Raster-Noton artists. The result is epic, powerful bass music, perfect for underwater exploring. At Todays Art the bass heavy trips of “Pong” will be translated into a live setting.
Oni Ayhun
OA makes records that combines disturbed dance music on the border to insanity with free dreamy drone stories without a beat. Like a surrealistic musical with a narrative based on associations, abstractions and confusion, the music is a journey through multiple settings and scenes.
Peter van Hoesen [BE]
Deeply rooted in the Brussels electronic music scene as DJ and producer since 1993, Peter van Hoesen is considered by many as a man with multiple musical talents: from straight-up dancefloor techno, through the deeper strains of house, to advanced abstract electronica. He’s active as a DJ, producer, sound designer and composer for contemporary dance and theatre.
