THE WATERBOYS

Thursday 14 November 2019 2019

The Waterboys was successful in the eighties with world hit “The Whole Of The Moon”, from their album “This Is The Sea”. The lead singer Mike Scott, who is inspired by rock ‘n’ roll, punk, soul and Celtic music, already went solo in 1993, but in 2000 he and his sound returned to the band. Over the years The Waterboys have released several albums, including their latest album “Where The Action Is”, which was released in May of this year. This new album challenges different genres and is a true testament to the many talents of frontman Mike Scott. “The recording makes a spectacular genre leap with “Take Me There I Will Follow You”, which captures Scott doing Rap.” Thus XS Noize.

Since Mike’s return in 2000, the band was in fifth gear. Since its return, the band has released at least 6 albums. Mike is undoubtedly one of the best British singer-songwriters of the last two decades and many artists such as Prince and Blaine Harrison praised Scott’s song by making their own adaptation. Although ‘The Whole of The Moon’ came out almost 35 years ago, the number is still in the top 2000 every year. On November 14, The Waterboys will finally be in the Grote Zaal of PAARD.

“ A poem that is beloved by Scott and he has finally recorded his own version. This interpretation blends the classic with the contemporary making for a winning amalgam. “
