POWERPLAY

Friday 15 February 2013 2013

Powerplay resurrected and has celebrated its 30th anniversary during the last weekend of January by presenting a brand new album called Radio Harlem. Although Powerplay never really split up and continued to performed every now and then, it is safe to say they are working on a comeback, since their previous album was released ten years ago.

Powerplay equals Jan van der Meij, the singer/guitarist that has been the constant factor of the band and mainly responsible for hit singles like Love Can Break Your Heart, Make It Alone, Waste Of Time and Rosie. Catchy popsongs most certainly inspired by The Beatles and easily recognisable by the melodious guitar riffs Jan van der Meij plays throughout the years.

Powerplay has had several different band members, but has been unchanged over the last decade. Ivo Severijns, former bass player for Herman Brood’s Wilde Romance and Kane, together with Ramon Rambeaux former drummer for Wilde Romance make up the rhythm section of Powerplay.
