Paardcafé: Rebel as a Poet

The Rebel As Poet is the music project of musician Jorn ten Ham who gave birth to the name this very year of 2026. After his previous garagerockband ‘Yip Roc’ had ended in 2020, he kept on writing songs, this time contained in a more gentle, honest, poetical and philosophical style.

Five years of writing went by, so a lot of material has been made in that period of time, now it is time to get them out in the world. The musical genre can best be described as Americana. His fingerpicking style on his electric guitar supports his vocal melodies and sharp lyrics which reflect on modern society from a philosophical point of view. These poetic stories give the listener the space to see their own life stories from an alternate perspective, as the lyrics also point out the struggles we encounter navigating ourselves through these intense times. This makes his songs both personal and at the same time they illuminate from an eagle’s eye view.
