Paardcafé: Medgar & the Nectar Effect

Medgar is an alternative rock band from Leiden (NL), founded in late 2022 by Rik (guitar and lead vocals), Bansta (guitar), Sybe (bass and backing vocals), and Martijn
(drums). The band released their debut EP Three Point Landing in February 2025. Prepare to be swept away by roaring guitars, thunderous drums, and bass lines so groovy that you’ll find yourself dancing before you know it—all wrapped up in a raw, nostalgic sound inspired by legends such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Queens of the Stone Age.

The Leiden-The Hague indie rock band The Nectar Effect is a sweet combination of reverberating guitars and synths, with lyrics that sing about the highs and lows of personal development. Musically, they are inspired by The Haunted Youth, Fontaines DC, and Hiqpy; lyrically, they are inspired by life.
