ANVIL, THE STORY OF ANVIL
Documentary about Anvil, a forgotten metal band who almost made  it…

Slash and Lemmy (Motörhead) remember this band like it was only yesterday. Although Anvil is generally remembered as the inventor of the ‘speed metal sound’ which later on would influence bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax, the band never reached the same level of success. 25 years later, the two founders and brothers, singer ‘Lips’ Kudrow and drummer Rob Reiner, are still messing around. Thanks to a new offer for a tour in Japan and Europe, the Anvil candle seems relight. This documentary of Sacha Gervasi (also scriptwriter for Steven Spielberg’s The Terminal and old friend and roadie of the band) was the biggest sensation at the Sundance Film Festival of 2008.
