MOWINGCLUB PRESENTS: RICHARD BUCKNER

Saturday 26 November 2011 2011

‘Restrained voice, punctuated with smoke and whisky, somewhere between whisper and singing. By this only, Richard Buckner shows that he’s a storyteller par excellence. He holds in rather than shout when it gets exiting.’ – nu.nl

Richard Buckner’s life seems like a glass half empty, broken by all the setbacks. His past doesn’t hold the singer-songwriter from California, back. Indeed: he writes a new record and releases a rockhard album.

Buckner makes his debut in 1994 with ‘Bloom’. The record is well received and it’s followed by even more records that are to die for.

Yet he gets no big break. Buckner acquires a cult status amongst the fans, still he remains relatively unknown for the big audience. This might be the right reason why this artist is a must-hear for the country and folk/Americana fans.

A diamond in the rough, a well kept secret, a unique musician, presented by Mowingclub.
